COHESION Game Structure

Blue

Perantsa

Five ministries of a democracy. Separate rooms, different levels of information — coordination takes real effort.

  • Policy decisions with four options
  • Bonus for a unified narrative
  • Structurally disadvantaged, by design
Red

Karti

Centrally steered, around one table. The structural advantage of an authoritarian regime — plus tools BLUE does not have.

  • Troll accounts and copycat media
  • No regard for the factual record
  • Objective: erode trust
Green

The public

Target audiences and a rich media landscape played by real people - as unpredictable as a real audience.

  • Legitimate media and disinformation outlets
  • Rates at the end of each round
  • No GREEN, no result
04 — Sequence

One round, three phases.

Coordination takes time, but may provide an edge over your opponent!

Define the core message

Each team plans its strategy and specifies the core message it wants to convey to audiences.

Core time · 60 min

Deliver under pressure

Four game days of 15 minutes each. Your strategic intent has to become concrete posts — right channel, right tone, right moment.

Post-round · 10 min

Adjudication

GREEN rates what actually landed. RED and BLUE debrief internally. Then the round result stands.

05 — Team Green

Three audiences, three fault lines.

If you want to convince them, you need to understand their concerns.

Students
Audience 01

Students

Left-leaning, digital, impatient. Angry about the lack of places on IT courses — and quick to pile in once a scandal gains traction.

Retirees

Conservative and security-minded. Worried about falling pensions and respectful of the military and the police — reachable through established media, not hashtags.

Audience 03

Zezouics

A religious minority, around a fifth of the population. Cross-border ties to Karti, historically disadvantaged — the fault line RED aims at.

06 — Adjudication

Not volume. Effect.

COHESION implements a first-in-class flexible adjudication system. Audiences rate the core messages the players defined - not a static matrix game but a dynamic experience.

Adjudication is fully flexible with user-configurable weightings.

  • Not noticed → all further dimensions are skipped
  • Trust recorded separately for Perantsa and Karti
  • Bonus for a unified narrative from BLUE
Example: Core message · Round 2 · Students
“Your safety comes first. We are working to return daily life to normal as quickly as we responsibly can.”
